Advancing Post-Quantum Security: FORTRESS Plenary in Oxford
On 6–7 October 2026, the FORTRESS consortium came together in Oxford, UK, for a productive two-day plenary meeting, kindly hosted by PQS.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress across the project and align on the next steps towards developing and validating secure Post-Quantum/Traditional Hybrid Root of Trust solutions.
Across the two days, partners exchanged on key technical developments, including benchmarking and trade-offs, hybrid Root of Trust integration and demonstrations. The discussions also looked beyond technology to address the pathways needed to maximise project impact through dissemination and communication, standardisation and exploitation.
The plenary also provided space to jointly review the upcoming deliverables at M18, project risks, upcoming priorities and related future activities, ensuring strong alignment across the consortium as the work progresses.
A big thank you to PQS for hosting us and all partners for the engaging discussions, contributions and continued collaboration.
We leave Oxford with clear priorities and renewed momentum for the next phase of FORTRESS—working together towards trusted, resilient and quantum-secure digital infrastructures.
