FORTRESS Newsletter#1
The first FORTRESS newsletter sets the scene for the project by introducing its ambition to develop a fully optimised Root of Trust for robust embedded security systems, combining hardware and software co-design to enable a smooth transition towards quantum-resistant architectures. It highlights the official kick-off meeting held in Heidelberg in October 2025, where partners aligned on the roadmap and objectives, as well as the project’s broader mission to deliver hybrid secure-boot solutions integrating classical and post-quantum cryptography. The edition also covers early outreach activities, including participation in WPQC’25 in Munich and the launch of the project website, while presenting the consortium’s expertise and underlining FORTRESS’s role in strengthening Europe’s digital resilience and leadership in post-quantum security.
